ReturnAbility Respite Care Center
LifeDesigns is the home of the ReturnAbility Adult Day Care Center. This program was established in October of 2014 for adult patients throughout Connecticut coping with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and spinal diseases like Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, and complex neurological and orthopedic diseases.
Who We Serve
The program serves the younger adult, ages 21-64, Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. Our program runs year round. We offer daily exercise, movies, TV, games, Internet access, educational programs, arts and crafts, and a quiet area for reading or napping. We build our program around the clients we serve. We care for your loved ones, so caregivers can get a rest too.
The ReturnAbility adult day care center is designed to meet the patients’ physical, social, and emotional needs. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for each person. We believe that each person has dignity and worth. We help each patient to function as well as they can, so they can remain independent and live in their homes and community as long as possible. We work together as a team to be sure the program is effective.
How We Began
MovingWithHOPE, a CT 501(C) (3) Charity, funds the ReturnAbility Adult Day Care Center. The program began as just an idea in 2010, in response to a real need in the community. Adult survivors of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and those suffering with brain and spinal cord diseases, needed an adult day care program that would offer a caring and safe environment. These individuals also needed access to therapy, and to stay connected with other people and the community. ReturnAbility Adult Day Care Center provides exactly that.
